Harbour City Family Practice conducts annual health assessments for physical, psychological and social well being. We will then provide you with education and advice for preventative measures.
Your assessment results will be discussed with you. Preventative health assessments are needed to put in measures to prevent common medical conditions before they occur.
What is checked as part of a preventative health assessment varies, depending on your age. We look at your overall health and risk factors.
We may provide you with a personalised healthcare plan and referrals to other medical practitioners if needed.

To check your general heart’s health, we can provide you with an electrodiagram. We recommend getting tested if you experience any of the following symptoms:
- Chest pain
- Severe tiredness
- Shortness of breath
An electrodiagram measures the electrical signals in your heart or simply said: It checks for any existing heart problems. This medical test is painless and suggested to undertake as general check up. The results will then be analysed by our experts and a medical plan will be outlined on how to proceed.
A spirometry test analyses the functionality of your lungs and can diagnose asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other breathing abnormalities. If any condition is detected, we will discuss on how to move forward and the spirometry test will be done once to twice a year to effectively monitor your lungs health.
Vaccinations are one of the most simple and effective ways to protect your infants, children and teenagers from 20 potential harmful diseases that can be very serious. It uses your body’s natural defenses to create resistance to diseases and strengthens your immune system. Vaccines not only protect your child and yourself, but also the people around you.
Because some vaccines can wear off over time, they are sometimes also necessary for adults. It is recommended for adults to continuously check with their doctor for any risk for diseases that can be prevented with vaccinations.
During our consultation we discuss the need of specific vaccines for your child or yourself and then conduct the vaccines. They will then be filed and you will be notified for any necessary check ups. We also offer the COVID 19 vaccine. For more information just give us a call or write us an email.
